The range, sweetness of tone combined with authority, vocal technique, quality of coloratura, diction and general chazonishe grip are great. Do you have information on Chazan Hitzkopf's background and career? Best Rgds mancunian Posted by mancunian at 03/02/10 13:55:42

there is not to much to add to your report besides a few small tidbits as a boy in Warsaw he sang with Cantor G. Sirota (under dir. David Eizenstadt) his father was a chazzan too went to Argentina in 1929 (this information is from sefer hachazanim - 1957 Argentina) sang six years in shul with the great Cantor Israel Barski (who recorded 1 record) was the cantor for many years in rossario santa fe from 1942 at least thru 1958 (after that I don't have any information) he did many recordings about 40 to 50 songs mostly Yiddish with a hand full of chazzanut Posted by dr at 04/02/10 10:59:23

sorry, but sometime i had a "feeling" and only after it - an "understanding" so... :) you wrote: "on 1930 first tenor under maestro B. Feuer his teacher for chazzanut" according to Issakhar Fater's book Bernardo Feuer was born in Lemberg (Lwow) in 1910 and came to Argentina in 1930. David Hickopf was born in 1904 and came to Argentina in 1928 (or in 1929). i don't believe, that Feuer was Hickopf's teacher in Poland, because in 1928 he was only 18 maybe he teached Hickopf after 1930? something "like" usual vocal studies etc? h.
