Awhile back, someone had posted a link to a recording of Moshe Preis. however, the link no longer works. Can someone who has access to the recording post a link?

Thanks in advance.

Dear Chayim1
I was very pleased to see yr posting.
Following a request on this site a few years ago, in which I asked if anyone had a recording of Chazan Preis z.l., I received a cherished, rare but slightly speeded up/distorted tape of the NY maariv concert. With the aid of my teenaged son, I was able to correct the pace and pitch and post up the result which has since been in heavy demand from mevinim around the world. The rarity derived from Chazan Preis having chosen to decline to make commercial recordings.
Although I was born after Moshe Preis left Manchester\'s Central Synagogue, I had the zchus to attend as a youngster the 1964 and 1969 charity concerts at which he sang with Chazonim Benjamin Hass and Moshe Korn respectively.
Yr posting prompted me to recall the programmes. Both were wonderful presentations of a balance of liturgical items and yiddish songs. The 1969 concert was in aid of Manchester Kollel...and in particular I was struck by the message from the Chairman of the Kollel in which he thanked Cantor Preis for travelling all the way from Vancouver and appearing at no fee.
If you would like a copy of the programmes, pl let me know how to contact you and I will email them to you.
I have met a few people who heard him during his Manchester incumbency (1939-1951) and all testified to his remarkable chazanut.
Having listened to a wide range of great chazonim over the years, my own recollection of the 2 1960s concerts remains strongly with me. His was a voice of rare beauty and great power combined with sweetness and flexibility. His flowing complex genuine chazonishe coloratura passages were timed to perfection. The abiding memory was of a tenor voice robust and secure across the range and of a personality steeped in East European cantorial tradition. This enabled him to compose pieces with gripping zogger characteristics and finish with uplifting high, dramatic endings.
The local Jewish paper published a front page plea after the first concert advert asking that those wishing to buy tickets should carefully read the advert and contact the organisers rather than continuing to bombard the newspaper offices with bookings requests.
I also recall schwartzesq\'s note on this forum mentioning that following his appointment aged 19 at the Central Orthodox ( Kazinczy St) Synagogue in Budapest in 1933, the congregants, whether orthodox or not, were simply transfixed by his chazanut and I can well understand that. Another internet posting I saw mentioned the Hungarian police had to control the crowds trying to get into the shul.
Finally, some years ago, I met his rabbinical colleague from the old days in Manchester and he said what a wonderful and pleasant colleague he had been to work with.
Best Rgds

It was I who brought this recording to thne forefront.
Chazzan Preis z"l was the chazzan in my shul - the Mosholu Jewish Center, in Bronx NY. It was from this shteleh that he went on to Vancouver. I was only about 11 yrs old at that time -but I remember being mesmerized by his davenind - especially his phenomenal fallsetto. I can still "hear" him ending chadesh yomeinu k'kedem in a long diminishing fallsetto. Rabbi Herschel Schacter- the Rabbi of the Mosholu Jewish Center told me what a wonderful person Chazzan Preis was to work with and as a wonderful neighbor as well- they lived in a 2 family house -side by side.
Chazzan Preis' son was a rabbi in Baltimore and everyone who I spoke to who recalls Chazzan Preis' visits to his son z"l had the same praise for the man, and considered it a special treat when he would grace the amud.
I was fortunate to have Jacob Erblich and then Moshe Leib Erblich replace Moshe Preis at the Mosholu J.C.
